Board Member Benjie Serrano said Gov. Joet Garcia wants many Bataenos to undergo skills training to improve their livelihood.
BM Serrano said the Governor asked the Provincial Technical Education and Skills Development Committee (PTESDC) to conduct more skills training across the province. Members of PTESDC paid a courtesy call to the Governor Tuesday morning. The board member is the chairman of PTESDC. Garcia appointed Serrano chairman of PTESDC to represent him. “Gusto ni Gov. Joet Garcia magkaroon ng maraming skills training sa probinsya para magbukas ng oportunidad sa ating mga kababayan para kumita”, said Serrano.
The board member said Garcia is pushing for the implementation of Dual Training System (DTS) given the presence of many companies in the province. DTS is a training modality that combines theoretical and practical training. It is called dual training because learning takes place alternately in two venues: the school or training center and the company or workshop. Serrano said PTESDC supports the vision of Garcia to improve livelihood of Bataenos by acquiring the necessary skills.
